Blue Rose Anniversary Cake

This was a cake for a 50th anniversary party. I tried to make it similar to their original wedding cake. This was hard since the only picture we had of the cake gave absolutely no detail and the cake was a surprise so we couldn't just ask the couple. They planned to put a wedding cake topper on the top in the middle of the vine and decorate the table with a few more blue roses I made.
This cake was an 8-10.

Blue Rose Wedding Cake

This was a fun cake to make! Her colors were royal blue and silver. The blue roses were made of marshmallow fondant and sprinkled with silver luster dust. It was an 8-10-12 size cake (and weighed a ton with all those roses!)

Gold Detail Wedding Cake

This was a 3 layer wedding cake (8-10-12). It was Devil's Food with Bavarian Cream filling and White with Raspberry filling. The bow on top was made from marshmallow fondant and dusted with gold luster dust.

Asian Cherry Blossom Tree

One of my old friends from college is getting married! She had a little bridal shower and as my present I made the cake. It was a french vanilla cake with raspberry filling (very yummy).
It was an 8 inch cake with buttercream frosting. The tree was chocolate frosting and the flowers and ribbon around the bottom were both fondant. Everyone loved it!

John Deere Tractor Tire Cake

I was super excited to do this cake! It was for a little boy's birthday and all she asked for was something that went with the theme of wheels. So I thought a tractor tire!
This is a 10 in. chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing. Starting with chocolate icing made getting the black easier. I didn't get the black icing quite as dark as I had planned to but it was starting to affect the taste.
I did cut out part of the middle of the cake to get the 3D aspect of a tire. This was a fun cake to make!

Modern Wedding Cake

This is a wedding cake I just finished. The bottom three layers are styrofoam and the top was a real layer for the bride and groom to cut in to.

Each layer is covered in buttercream and most of the decorations were fondant. The hardest part was getting the fondant a dark navy blue. The bride had described it as almost black.

I took a few pictures with it "finished" before they arrived with the final touch, the roses for the top. And then just one quick one with those added.

Little Birthday Cake--"Smash Cake"

This is a cake I made for a little boy's first birthday. It was to be the main prop in a photo session, ie a "smash cake". It was chocolate with raspberry filling and marshmallow fondant. The brown fondant was also chocolate.

The fondant was being much more difficult than it should have been so I was rushed to deliver the cake. I didn't get to take the nice pictures I usually would've. This picture is actually from the photo shoot. His mom sent me one of the photos.
